Are your required to register?

If your rental address is in the rental inspection

 district, the rental inspection card will show information (overlay color on map will appear orange).

Once you have located your rental unit utilizing the My City Services GIS map, to view more information about the property, use the side arrow to scroll left to the Parcel Card, click-View property details in ParcelViewer. 

 

From ParcelViewer -to view if a rental address is a registered rental or to view inspection violations. Use e-TRAKIT, select Planning Data link and  click View Parcel In e-TRAKiT

Code of Virginia § 36-105.1:1 paragraph B-3 states:

 

An individual residential rental dwelling unit outside of a designated rental inspection district is made subject to the rental inspection ordinance based upon a separate finding for each individual dwelling unit by the local governing body that

(i) there is a need to protect the public health, welfare and safety of the occupants of that individual dwelling unit; (ii) the individual dwelling unit is either

(a) blighted or

(b) in the process of deteriorating; or

(iii) there is evidence of violations of the Building Code that affect the safe, decent and sanitary living conditions for tenants living in such individual dwelling unit.
